Padel Is Exploding Globally. India Has Almost No Courts.

Over 25 million players worldwide. Spain, Argentina, UAE, Sweden — padel clubs are overflowing with members. Corporate campuses in Mumbai and Bangalore are asking for padel. Sports academies are looking to add it. But building a padel court is not like laying tiles on concrete.

A padel court is an enclosed structure — 20m × 10m, with 3-metre tempered glass back walls, metallic mesh sides, artificial turf surface, and a steel frame engineered for wind loads. It requires specialised materials, precise construction, and someone who understands both the sport and the Indian climate. That is what we do.

Glass Back Walls

The defining feature of padel. 3m-high tempered glass panels at each end of the court. The ball can be played off these walls — like squash. This is what makes padel unique from tennis.

3m high × 10m wide

Service Boxes

Four service boxes formed by the service line and centre line. The underhand serve must bounce in the diagonally opposite box before the receiver can play it.

6.95m × 5m each

Net

0.88m high at centre, 0.92m at the posts. Lower than a tennis net. The net separates the two halves of the 20m court.

Height: 0.88m (centre)

Metallic Mesh Side Walls

The side walls are metallic mesh up to 4m high. The ball can be played off the lower 3m section. Above 3m, the ball is out if it touches the mesh.

4m high (playable to 3m)

Service Line

6.95m from the back wall on each side. Serves must bounce between this line and the back wall in the correct service box.

6.95m from back wall

Court Surface

Artificial turf with sand infill, 200 sqm total (20m × 10m). The surface provides consistent bounce and is all-weather. Some indoor courts use carpet.

20m × 10m (200 sqm)

What Goes Into a Padel Court?

Four specialised components — each engineered for the unique demands of padel.

Tempered Glass Walls

12mm tempered glass back wall panels, 3m high. Designed for repeated ball impact. The glass is what makes padel — shots are played off it like squash.

Galvanised Steel Frame

Hot-dip galvanised structural steel. Engineered for wind loads up to 150 km/h. Supports glass panels, mesh walls, and lighting. 20+ year lifespan.

Metallic Mesh Side Walls

Electro-welded mesh panels, 4m high. The ball can be played off the lower section — the mesh absorbs energy without deforming.

Artificial Turf Surface

12-15mm fibrillated turf with silica sand infill. Provides consistent ball bounce and grip. UV-stabilised for Indian conditions. Replaceable without structural work.

What Our Clients Say

We explored importing a pre-fabricated court from Europe but the shipping cost was prohibitive. ChampCourts built us a court using locally sourced steel and imported glass at 40% lower cost. Quality was on par with what we played on in Dubai.

Sports Club Owner Bangalore, Karnataka

The corporate campus needed something unique to attract tenants. A padel court was the differentiator. Bookings started before the paint dried.

Padel Court FAQ

Everything you need to know about building a padel court in India.

A standard padel court is 20m long × 10m wide (200 sqm / 2,150 sqft). The court is enclosed — 3m high tempered glass back walls at each end, and 4m high metallic mesh on the sides. The net is 0.88m at centre. Unlike tennis, the walls are part of the playing surface — shots can be played off them.

A single outdoor padel court costs Rs 25-35 lakhs turnkey — including PCC base, steel frame, tempered glass, mesh walls, artificial turf, lighting, and net. Indoor courts with roofing run Rs 32-45 lakhs. Double courts (2 side-by-side) benefit from shared walls, bringing per-court cost down by 15-20%.

Yes. Most padel courts worldwide are outdoor. The artificial turf handles rain well, and the glass/mesh structure is designed for weather exposure. For Indian monsoon conditions, we include proper drainage and anti-corrosion treatment. LED floodlights enable evening play.

12mm tempered (toughened) safety glass. If it breaks — which is extremely rare during normal play — it shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards. The glass is treated for UV resistance and heat in Indian conditions. Replacement panels are always available as spares.

Fabrication (off-site): 4-6 weeks for steel frame and glass sourcing. On-site installation: 10-15 days for a single court. Total timeline from order to handover: 6-8 weeks. Double courts add 3-5 days to the on-site work.

Minimal. Brush the turf weekly to keep the pile upright, top up sand infill annually (we supply). Check glass panels and mesh quarterly for damage. Steel frame needs no maintenance if properly galvanised. LED lights last 50,000+ hours. The turf surface is replaceable after 8-10 years without touching the structure.

Absolutely. Padel court rentals in India command Rs 1,500-3,000 per hour — higher than most other court sports due to scarcity and premium positioning. A well-located court with evening bookings can generate Rs 1-2 lakhs per month, with ROI in 18-24 months. Many clients build 2-4 courts for league and tournament play.

Yes. Padel uses walls (glass and mesh) as part of the court — balls can be played off walls like squash. Paddle tennis (also called Pop Tennis) is an outdoor game without walls on a smaller court. Padel courts are always doubles, always enclosed, and always use depressurised tennis balls.
