Building a Table Tennis Hall in India
Dedicated table tennis halls are growing in demand as the sport professionalises in India. Here's what you need to know about building one.
Space Requirements
- Per table: 14m × 7m minimum (ITTF competition). 12m × 6m for training
- 4-table hall: ~3,000-4,000 sqft total
- 8-table hall: ~6,000-8,000 sqft total
- Ceiling height: 4m minimum (5m recommended)
Flooring
ITTF recommends PU or specialised vinyl in competition blue or green (non-reflective). Key requirements:
- Non-reflective surface (glare affects play)
- Consistent, slightly grippy texture
- Shock absorption for player comfort during long sessions
